About Us
Our journey began with a simple Facebook post—a friend was seeking someone to foster two dogs for a couple of weeks. But before we could step in, the dogs ended up at the local city animal shelter.
While many shelters in central Texas are no-kill, some are not. Unfortunately, the shelter where the dogs were taken has a high euthanasia rate, putting down many healthy animals daily. Fortunately, we were able to rescue these two dogs in time, and they’ve since become beloved members of our family. However, as we passed by the cages filled with so many sweet, trusting faces, we couldn’t help but realize that many of the other animals there would not be so lucky. That day, our family and friends committed to rescuing and fostering five more dogs, and we vowed to do even more.
In 2023, we founded Feathers, Fur & Fins with one mission: to save dogs and cats at risk of euthanasia. Our goal is to rescue as many animals as possible in the central Texas area, working alongside and supporting local non-profits. We focus on four key areas:
-
Raising Awareness of Pets At-Risk – It was a simple Facebook post that started things for us, and we encourage everyone to follow us and to share our posts. The more people who see and share our posts, the more lives we can save.
-
Supporting Rescues and Shelters – We recognize the challenges faced by shelters and rescues, which are often overworked and underfunded. We are committed to helping with both monetary donations and physical supplies. A portion of every purchase made through Feathers, Fur & Fins goes directly to our community partners.
-
Celebrating the People-Pet Bond – We believe that pets are family. To honor this bond, we create gifts and gift baskets that celebrate both people and their pets. Pets bring companionship, joy, and unconditional love to our lives. By purchasing our gifts, you’re not only celebrating this special connection, but you’re also helping other potential pets-to-be find their forever homes.
-
Advocating for No-Kill Shelters – We believe every shelter should be No-Kill. With proper support and advocacy, it’s a model that many communities have successfully adopted. If it has worked in some cities and counties, why not every city and county?
With your support, Feathers, Fur & Fins can make a lasting difference in the lives of both animals and people. Together, we can work toward making central Texas a "No-Kill" area. Will you help us to Bring Love Home?
Now, allow us to introduce our big Pack o' Pals! These six loyal pups and four fluffy friends are part of our family. They model our products, test new items, and, most importantly, fill our hearts with love every day.
Meet our Pack
-
Champ (aka Chumbawumba)
Meet Champ! He's one of our latest rescues. We decided to name him Champ to honor his fighting spirit, as he has overcome starvation, malnutrition, neglect and abuse. Those days are over Chumbawumba!
-
Rocco
Rocco is one of the families OG Pups, and has been a blessing for our house for many years. He's the reason we all love Pitties!
-
Enzo
Here's Enzo! He's one of the happiest pups you'll meet! Enzo particularly loves going on runs, going to the lake and oh boy can he eat!
-
Valentino (Tino)
Tino is the classic big friendly giant! Tino is also a new rescue and he's been a wonderful friend of mine. He's often called an "overgrown mouse" because of his meek and quiet nature.
-
Ari
A Cattle-dog through and through! Ari loves being a homebody and making sure her pack is A-ok. Ari is also a recent rescue and has quickly attached to Mama!
-
Luna
Luna is also one of our OG Pup's (with Rocco) and has been an absolute blessing for our family. Luna is the sweetest girl you'll meet! She would gladly trade food for some good belly rubs!
